Cozumel is one of the busiest cruise ports on Earth, and for good reason: some of the Caribbean’s clearest water and healthiest reefs sit just offshore, and the Riviera Maya’s Mayan ruins are within reach for the day. Ships dock at one of three piers, all a short taxi from town.
Best things to do on your cruise
Snorkeling at Palancar & Colombia reefs. This is the signature Cozumel experience. Part of the world’s second-largest reef system, these sites are calm, shallow and bursting with turtles, rays and tropical fish. Boat snorkel tours typically visit two or three reefs and include gear.
Tulum ruins day trip. The only Mayan ruins perched on a cliff above the Caribbean. It’s a ferry-plus-drive from Cozumel, so book a structured tour that guarantees your return to the ship.
Jeep and beach club combo. Drive the wild eastern coast, then relax at a beach club with lunch and a swim — a great mix of adventure and downtime.

- Cozumel is docked (not tendered), so you step right off.
- Reef tours in the morning have the calmest water and best visibility.
